The Rob Wallace Shield

Introduction

This is awarded to the player who has shown significant improvement throughout the season. Named after the man who started the Club, it was awarded in the early years of the Club to the most improved player, but the shield was misplaced and forgotten. In 2019/20 our Club Patron, Paula Luethen, was asked to help revive the shield and she has kindly done so.

Selection Criteria

• Award winners can be selected on the basis of effort over one summer or cumulatively over many summers.

• The award winner will not have his or her off field contribution counted towards this award.

• The award winner will be recommended by the Senior Cricket Department and presented to the Club Committee for ratification.

• The Rob Wallace Shield will be awarded at the End of Season presentation.

• The award winner will have their name engraved on the perpetual shield. There is no monetary value to the award.

• The Club is not required to announce a winner if there is no suitable candidate.
